The Lilith Fund was proud to honor Sarah Wheat,
Vice President for Community Affairs at Planned
Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region, at the 2009 REA Awards. Prior to Planned Parenthood,
Wheat was the Political Director, then Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice
Texas.
Sarah and
her husband, Tim Staley, have 2 young sons. Prior to being a mom, Wheat
served on the Board of Directors for GENaustin, a nonprofit educational
foundation for girls; the Capital Area Democratic Women; and the Texas Women’s
Coalition. Wheat received the National Women’s Political Caucus of Texas’ 2006
“Good Gal” award and Capital Area Democratic Women’s “Champion” award in 2003,
and was cited as a “Top Lobbyist for a Cause” by Capitol Inside.
