Our volunteer board of directors serves as a governing body that provides organizational and financial oversight, strategic governance, and visioning for Lilith Fund, with a huge focus on supporting Lilith Fund’s staff through it all.
We’re so excited to introduce you to this crew of passionate advocates who are ready to support Lilith Fund’s staff in showing up for Texans who need abortion care.

Lauren Cortez, MS, MPH, is a public health practitioner whose career has focused on advancing equity, prevention, and access to care for underserved communities. With more than a decade of experience in federally funded research, suicide prevention, and health literacy, she brings expertise in translating research findings into strategies that strengthen systems and improve outcomes. Her work demonstrates a sustained commitment to centering the voices and lived experiences of those most affected by systemic barriers, ensuring that public health policy protects women, children, and families from preventable harm.

Victoria De Leon is a marketing and communications professional with a background in journalism. She has a passion for community storytelling and deeply believes people centered stories are key to effecting change. Victoria is a proud granddaughter of immigrants and first generation college graduate. She is a dedicated advocate for civic engagement, abortion and reproductive rights, mental health and strives to build healthy and safe communities in Texas.

Emilie Renee Herrera is a San Antonio–based community advocate, HR leader, and award-winning entrepreneur. She is the Director of Human Resources at Unity Recovery, Vice President of Economic Development for Poderosa Rising, and the sole owner of Folklores Coffee House, an award-winning café with two locations focused on outreach, education, and wellness. In 2024, she launched CheeseMe, the first Latina owned cheese shop in San Antonio, and in 2025, she is expanding her vision through mobile cheese vending machines across the city. Emilie serves on the Small Business Advisory Commission for District 2, is a RevitalizeSA Cohort 2 graduate, and a Latina Leadership Institute alumna. She was recognized as a 2025 Phenomenal Woman in Leadership by the Maestro Entrepreneur Center, received the Comadre Award from the Hispanic Network of Texas, and was honored with a Proclamation from the State of Texas for her COVID relief efforts. Emilie leads with heart, grit, and one core belief: Do small things with great love.

Jen Pavich is an Executive Coach & Facilitator, currently residing and resisting in Austin, TX. She has served on many nonprofit boards, and currently serves on the board of The New Philanthropists. Her experience in advocacy and policy work has enabled Jen to engage in conversations about economic and gender justice, equity, and anti-racism for nearly two decades.

Kymberlie Quong-Charles is 20+ year veteran of social justice organizing and nonprofit leadership, with focuses in perinatal health, abortion access, immigrant justice, and prison abolition. Originally from the State of Maine, she has called Austin, Texas home since 2006 where she is raising an awesome kid! Kymberlie is trained as a birth and abortion doula. She is also a certified yoga instructor and she trains in and coaches figure skating, which is how she copes with the Texas heat!

Kylie Tweed is honored to be a part of Lilith Fund’s board of directors and contribute to a mission she deeply believes in. Kylie holds a Master’s of Public Affairs from the University of Texas LBJ School and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma, and has dedicated her career to public service. Through roles with the Texas Black Caucus Foundation, Central Texas Food Bank, and Texas state agencies, Kylie has led programmatic policy initiatives, conducted fiscal analyses, and contributed to advocacy work mapping food insecurity in Central Texas and amplifying awareness to systemic inequities in our political systems. Kylie is committed to advancing reproductive justice for all Texans and finding creative solutions to work within the hostile landscape in our state.

Nina Zamarripa was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley (Pharr) and currently resides in Austin, Texas. Nina works as a Supportive Housing Program Advocate at The SAFE Alliance assisting families and individuals in securing safe and affordable housing. Nina is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work and is passionate about connecting people with the resources they need to thrive. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two pups, Olive and Cashew, being outdoors, going for walks, and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops.
