It’s easy to say goodbye to Twitter, but it’s not easy to leave behind our 19,458 followers. We have had so many impactful conversations and built meaningful connections in that digital space over the years. We remember when Twitter was vibrant, challenging, fun, fascinating, and useful — even if it wasn’t perfect. But those days are over. Today, X is a boring, useless, hostile platform filled with bots and paid-for blue checks. It is a toxic wasteland of unchecked racism, sexism, and antisemitism that only further enriches the world’s richest man. It isn’t serving us… or you.
In all of our decisions, we center the needs of our clients first and foremost. Of course, we worry about the possibility that a Texan who needs financial assistance for abortion care would come looking for us on Twitter and not find us. For that reason, we are not deleting our account. It will live on so potential clients can still find us. After all, people of all political views have abortions every day, and we are here for all of you, just as we’ve always been. We also don’t want to leave open the potential for any bad actors to impersonate us.
So while we cannot delete our Twitter account entirely, we will no longer be spending our precious time and limited resources to create content there. You can still connect with us online, we are @lilithfund on other social media platforms. Sign up for our newsletter, join our Hype Squad, listen to our podcast Gaslit 🔥, and if you are able, make a donation.
If you like this message and support our decision, you can show us by making a recurring monthly donation in the amount of $8 — the cost of buying a Twitter blue check.
With love and solidarity,
